Church Of Destiny's Statements of Faith
Church of Destiny is noted for its commitment to teaching grace with accountable, biblical integrity with faith and love for Jesus Christ.
We Believe…
The scriptures (The Bible) are the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men who wrote under the direction and leadership of the Holy Spirit. We accept both new and old testaments as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
(2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thes. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
We Believe…
Our God is one, and manifested in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all equal in deity. Father, God, sender of the Word (logos) and the Begetter of the Son. Jesus, the Son, is the word that dwells among us, the only begotten Son, and has been with the Father from the beginning. Holy Spirit was sent to man by the Father to comfort and guide in our walk to maturity.
(Phil. 2:6; John 14:28;1:14; 1:1; 1:18; 15:26)
We Believe…
Mankind is a created being, made in the image of God. Through Adam and Eve’s transgressions, sin came into the world. Salvation is the gift of God to mankind, separate from the law and works, to bring mankind into proper fellowship with God.
(Romans 5:14; 3:10; 3:23; 1 John 3:8)
We Believe…
Mankind’s first step toward salvation is recognition of sin. Second, admission of sin. Third, repentance of sin. The New Birth is necessary for all men and when properly experienced will produce eternal life.
( 2 Cor. 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5)
We Believe…
There are two baptisms, water and Holy Spirit, both needed but not absolutely necessary for salvation.
Water baptism is full immersion in water. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God and is usually accompanied by the gift of tongues and/or unusual boldness for God.
(Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 2:38, 39; 19:1-7; Matt 28:18 Rom 6:4)
We Believe…
The bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive, work of grace commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until consummation of salvation at Christ’s return.
(Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil 3:12-14; 1 Cor. 1:30)
We Believe…
Divine healing is for physical, as well as spiritual needs. We believe that the gift of healing is for physical ills and is wrought by the power of God through faith and prayer. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is a privilege of every member of the body of Christ.
(Isa 53:4-5; Mark 16:18; James5:14-15)
We Believe…
The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, is the basis of Salvation and his second return imminent. We believe that all believers will be raptured as his second coming.
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thess 4:16-17)
We Believe…
Hell and Eternal attribution to those who physically die in sin without accepting Christ as Savior, and have no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel of repenting.
(Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20)
